India's GST collection for May 2025 reached ₹2.01 lakh crore, marking a 16.4% YoY rise. After ₹27,210 crore in refunds, the net revenue stood at ₹1.74 lakh crore—a 20.4% increase. IGST dominated at ₹1.08 lakh crore, with ₹50,070 crore from imports alone. Top contributors included Maharashtra (₹31,530 crore), Karnataka (₹14,299 crore), and Tamil Nadu (₹12,230 crore). E-invoicing adoption, strong domestic demand, active imports, and faster refund cycles fueled growth. Sustained collections above ₹2 lakh crore signal improving compliance, robust consumption, and fiscal strength ahead of the monsoon quarter.
